The hCG hormone (chorionic) does not appear in the urine immediately after fertilization. You have to wait a few days for the fertilized egg to travel through the fallopian tube to the uterus and implant. From that moment, the production of chorionic hormone begins, which in early pregnancy, almost doubles every 2-3 days. When hCG reaches 15 units in the urine, then you will see a very faint Test Line on the HomeTest pregnancy test. As hCG levels increase, so the Test Line will darken, until 25 units wherein the two lines (Control Line and Test Line) will be the same. When chorionic touches 25 units in the urine, then pregnancy is over 90% guaranteed. So the sooner you do the pregnancy test, the results may lead to wrong conclusions. It all depends on the sensitivity of the test, ie the chorionic units the test begins to detect, and the hormone levels that exist in your body when you do the test.

Let's look at two scenarios:

Scenario 1

You do a pregnancy test three days before the expected period and no Test Line is visible. This test is negative. But there is a chance you are pregnant, as levels of chorionic may be less than 15 units at the time of the test and therefore the test ignores them and does not produce a Test Line. If you do not get your period after 2-3 days, you can repeat a new test. As long as you do not get period, you can continue the test, even if they show a negative result, every 2-3 days.

Scenario 2

You do a pregnancy test three days before the expected period and it displays a very faint line in the Test Area. It makes you wonder if it is positive or not. In principle the test is positive. This means, as stated above, that the fertilized egg has attached itself to the uterine wall. But it is too early! In this case you have to be cautiously optimistic as there is indeed pregnancy, but also there is the possibility for the pregnancy to stop prematurely. Generally the presence of chorionic is not as important as its increase in levels. That's why you need to repeat a new pregnancy test after 2-3 days and compare it with the original. In the second test the Test Line should be darker, which will show that chorionic levels increase and therefore everything is fine with your pregnancy.

The advice from HomeTest is to be patient and wait for the day of the expected period to perform a pregnancy test. It is worthy to wait a few days and not rush. You will get more reliable results that day. If your cycle is not steady and so you do not know exactly when your next period is, then you can begin the test 15 days after the intercourse that you believe was the one you conceived.

Also, keep in mind that it is normal in the early days of the pregnancy, the pregnancy tests to be similar to each other, ie the Test Lines to look alike. This is because in early pregnancy, the chorionic levels increase at a very slow pace. From the fifth week of pregnancy however, the chorionic levels almost double every day!

Finally, before testing, it is advisable to carefully read the instructions, even if you think you do not need to! There is a lot of interesting information!

Good luck!
