The moment of ovulation

Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the follicle, pushed down the fallopian tube, and waits to be fertilized.

Normally, every month an egg matures within one of the ovaries. As it matures, the egg is released from the ovary, it then enters the fallopian tube where it waits for the sperm to fertilize it.

The lining of the uterus gets thickened to prepare for the fertilized egg. If no conception occurs, the uterine lining, as well as blood, is then shed. This is menstruation.

This is a real photo of the actual moment of the releasing of the egg from the ovary!
