At a recent fertility conference in Helsinki, Allan Pacey, a professor of andrology at the University of Sheffield, explained that “there is no reason for a woman to keep her feet in the air or put a pillow under her pelvis or any other such contrivances. For a successful conception, every position in sex is good”.

Lying down after intercourse may help but not more than 5 minutes.

“Usually this is the time when couples calm down after sex to give a hug and take a breath," the professor explained. "Studies have shown that sometimes it does not take more than 10 minutes for sperm to reach the fallopian tubes. So, until you calm down and take a breath, the sperm have already arrived there”.
